Longest-season brassica — start transplants in early summer for fall harvest. Flavor intensifies dramatically after frost. To promote larger, uniform sprouts, remove lower leaves and tip the main growing point 4 weeks before harvest. Plants can get 2–3 ft tall; stake in windy gardens. Extremely cold-hardy once established.
